Personnel <br /> Over the past six weeks, I have completed a number of employee reviews. We I <br /> have also hired a new Building Inspector and Cable T.V. Technician. In addition, <br /> we have had to address several Workers' Compensation cases. It appears that Jim <br /> Perron will be back to work next week under limited duty. I also completed the I <br /> DOER Pay Equity Report required by the State. <br /> i. Town Hall Meeting I <br /> We held the Town Hall meeting on January 25, 1997. Approximately 100 people <br /> attended the event. <br /> j. Communications I <br /> I have begun sending abridged minutes to the local newspapers the day following <br /> a Council meeting. We continue to send press releases on topics of importance. I <br /> k. Ouad Ice Arena <br /> All of the cities have approved participation in this project. Ramsey County has I <br /> authorized the initial down payment on our behalf. Anoka County is holding a <br /> public hearing on Tuesday to address the issuance of bonds, however, no hard .. <br /> cost estimates have been prepared. The architectural review committee is still <br /> working on plans with the architect. <br /> I. Crime Prevention Officer I <br /> The new Crime Prevention Officer, Deputy Gary Wilzbacher, is now on board <br /> with Ramsey County. The contract cities have been working with Ramsey I <br /> County to clarify the goals and objectives for the new officer. The primary goal <br /> to measure the effectiveness of this position in communities is to show growth in <br /> residential and business watch groups. However, the contract cities have I <br /> requested a more detailed action plan be prepared to assist in the process. The <br /> County intends to utilize the Community Affairs Officers (CAO's) to assist with <br /> the Crime Prevention Unit. Once more of the details are worked out, I'll be sure I <br /> to include an article in our local newsletter. <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> .. <br /> I <br />
