- ". Administrator Comments for the February 24,1997 City Council Meeting I Page Four February 20, 1997 -. h. Personnel Over the past six weeks, I have completed a number of employee reviews. We I have also hired a new Building Inspector and Cable T.V. Technician. In addition, we have had to address several Workers' Compensation cases. It appears that Jim Perron will be back to work next week under limited duty. I also completed the I DOER Pay Equity Report required by the State. i. Town Hall Meeting I We held the Town Hall meeting on January 25, 1997. Approximately 100 people attended the event. j. Communications I I have begun sending abridged minutes to the local newspapers the day following a Council meeting. We continue to send press releases on topics of importance. I k. Ouad Ice Arena All of the cities have approved participation in this project. Ramsey County has I authorized the initial down payment on our behalf. Anoka County is holding a public hearing on Tuesday to address the issuance of bonds, however, no hard .. cost estimates have been prepared. The architectural review committee is still working on plans with the architect. I. Crime Prevention Officer I The new Crime Prevention Officer, Deputy Gary Wilzbacher, is now on board with Ramsey County. The contract cities have been working with Ramsey I County to clarify the goals and objectives for the new officer. The primary goal to measure the effectiveness of this position in communities is to show growth in residential and business watch groups. However, the contract cities have I requested a more detailed action plan be prepared to assist in the process. The County intends to utilize the Community Affairs Officers (CAO's) to assist with the Crime Prevention Unit. Once more of the details are worked out, I'll be sure I to include an article in our local newsletter. I I I .. I
