<br />I' <br />~ Memorandum - Committee Roles <br /> Page Three <br /> March 4, 1997 <br /> Newsletter Committee (7 members current) <br />I The purpose of this Committee is to report, write and edit the monthly newsletter <br /> publication. The Committee meets regularly on the last Wednesday of each month at <br /> 6:00 P.M. <br />I Planning Commission (7 members by Code) <br /> The purpose of this Commission is to advise the Council on all City land use planning <br />I matters. Duties include the development and maintenance of the Arden Hills <br /> Comprehensive Plan, carrying out procedures dictated by Minnesota Statutes, Section <br /> 462.351 - 462.365 and City Code, review and investigation of various planning matters as <br />I directed by the City Council, and making recommendations to the City Council. The <br /> Planning Commission meets at 7:30 P.M. the first Wednesday of each month. <br />I Parks & Recreation Commission (8 members current) <br /> Dedicated to serving the people of Arden Hills by providing a comprehensive, weIl- <br />I maintained system of parks, trails, facilities and open spaces, and a balanced, well- <br /> organized program of affordable recreational activities. The Commission meets at the <br /> Army Reserve Center on the fourth Tuesday or Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. <br />Ie .Public Safety Commission (7 members current) <br /> The purpose of this Commission is to advise the Council on matters that relate to the <br />I goals, policies and operations on public safety functions. Duties shall include assisting <br /> the Police and Fire Departments in such activities as assessing community concerns <br /> relating to public safety issues, developing long range strategic plans, developing and <br />I monitoring achievement of performance measures. The Committee meets bi-monthly on <br /> the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 P.M. <br />I Youth Commission <br /> No defined objectives and no current members. <br />I Human Rights Committee <br /> Disbanded 2/97 <br />I Sushila Shah - City liaison for Human Rights activities - quarterly reports to Council. <br />I <br />I <br />,. <br />I <br />
