MEMORANDUM <br />- <br /> DATE: March 31, 1997 <br />I TO: Mayor and City Council <br />I FROM: Kcvin Ringwald, Community Development Director ~ <br /> SUBJECT: Community Development Department Activities <br />I March of 1997 <br />) The following summarizes the activities of the Community Development Department for March <br /> of 1997. <br />I Planning and Zoninl!' <br /> The Planning Commission did not meet at its regular March meeting. The Staff has received the <br /> following application for the Planning Commission consideration at the April 2, 1997 meeting: <br />- <br />- 1. Planning Case 97-04 (Enterprise Leasing Company, 3761 Lexington Avenue, Special <br />/ Use Permit). The applicant (Enterprise Rental Car) wishes to occupy a bay of the <br />.. Goodyear building. The applicant does leasing business with the surrounding large <br /> corporations and wishes to have an outlet in close proximity to them. The applicant <br />I anticipates that there will be at most eight (8) cars on the site at any given time. <br /> 2. Planning Case 97-05 (North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 Highway 96, PUD <br />I amendment). The applicant wishes to construct 58,000 square foot addition to their <br /> existing church facility. The addition will be located on the south side of the existing <br /> structure. The addition is essentially a school and a fellowship hall. The church has not <br />I made provision for the removal of the five trailer trucks which store stage sets for their <br /> plays in this proposal, even though their previous Planning Case (95-13) required its <br /> removal by May 31,1997. <br />I 3. Planning Case 97-06 (Welsh Companies, Round Lake Road, Site Plan and <br /> Variances). Per council direction, this item will be postponed until the purchase <br />I agreements are resolved between the various parties. <br /> Protective Inspections <br />. 1. Building Permits. The City in March of 1997 issued seven residential remodeling or <br /> additions permits which had a total value of$72,762.00 and had an average value of <br />I $10,394.57. The City in March of 1997 issued two new residential permits which had a <br /> total value of $466,564.00 and had an average value of $233,282.00. The City in March <br /> of 1997 issued five commercial/industrial building permits which had a total value of <br />~ $583,850.00 and had an average value of$116,770.00. <br />I <br />
