<br /> I <br /> I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> it MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 24, 1997 <br /> I TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator 9\. <br /> I FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Department Head Report <br /> I Public Safety Commission <br /> I The Public Safety Commission returned to montWy meetings and met on April 17, 1997, at the <br /> Arden Hills Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department Station. District Chief, Tim Boehlke <br /> provided those attending a tour of the facility, and had the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire <br /> I Department aerial truck on hand for a demonstration. <br /> The Public Safety Commission reviewed the Arden Hills Assessment Policy and recommend that <br /> I no changes be made to the policy, as it relates to corner lots, <br /> Public Works Department <br /> Ie Mr. Scherbel and Mr. Stafford investigated approximately 20 bags of garbage dumped in a ditch <br /> near the Arden Hills Library. The owner of the garbage bags was contacted and that person has <br /> I cleaned up the garbage, <br /> The specifications for the Industrial/Commercial Water Meter replacement are complete. <br /> I However, the specifications need some additional review. <br /> The City has received the new street sweeper and it is anticipated that the completion of the <br /> I street sweeping will be May 2, 1997. <br /> Public Works Employees are in the process of restoring all four (4) catch basins on Glenhill <br /> I Road and Ridgewood Road which are collapsing. Four (4) others also have beenround which <br /> need to be reconstructed in other areas. <br /> I Lawn Restoration from winter plowing is nearly complete; however, areas needing sod will not <br /> be finished until sod growers start cutting sod. <br /> I The City, again had a significant number of meters to repair and replace following the last <br /> quarter billing. This work is being completed as time and scheduling with home owners allow, <br /> I Crack sealing completed last summer seems to have held up through the winter. However, a few <br /> cracks have opened wider and the sealant cracked. The Public Works Department and the <br /> fI sealant supplier will decide whether or not to try a more flexible sealant in the future. <br /> I <br />
