I' -
. Administrator Comments for the Week Ending 4/25/97
Page Three
.e April 25, 1997
c. 1997 Street Improvements/Assessments
. Staff worked with the City Engineer on the review of the proposed assessments,
and specifically options related to the appeals received.
1 I have also continued to work with Attorney Filla on issues related to the Albjerg
assessment appeal.
. d. General Administration
I attended the LMCIT's Safety and Loss Control Workshop to review potential
risk management and insurance liability issues. We've also attended several City
. Manager's meetings and prepared meeting agendas for the upcoming Suburban
Mayor's meeting. Several conversations on issues of concern have been held with
the Local #49. We've prepared and mailed weekly reports to the newspapers to
. update them on local Council actions. We've also revised the new resident
packet, and will be mailing it directly to residents rather than working with Red
. Carpet or Welcome Wagon.
e. Newsletter Committee
.e The Newsletter Committee has published the April edition of the Arden Hills
Notes, and is currently working on the May Edition. We worked with the Post
Office to streamline mailing procedures and our printing schedule.
. f. Parks & Recreation
Anoka County has approved the issuance of bonds for the Quad Ice Arena. Bonds
. are expected to be issues around May 13, 1997. I have met with neighboring
cities and Ms. Walsh to discuss potential programming opportunities.
. Mayor Probst, Ms. Walsh, and I have also met with Little Lakes Little League to
discuss development opportunities on TCAAP. The Parks Department has
created a sponsorship program which required some discussion and internal
I coordinating. I've also worked with Ms. Walsh on the potential ISTEA
application.
1 g. Personnel
I've done some "tweaking" to the Personnel Policy, and am considering several
I programs which could assist with this process. I attended a COBRA Seminar to
determine how we must address this law within our current insurance program.
I've also scheduled some meetings to re-evaluate the employee dental insurance
. program.
i'
I
