<br /> - ... <br /> .. <br /> I <br /> General City PoliQ" -. <br /> The purpose of this notice is to inform you that our City is complying with Minnesota OSHA <br /> Employee Right-to-Know Standard, by compiling a hazardous chemicals list, by using material safety I <br /> data sheets, by ensuring that containers are labeled, and by providing you with training. <br /> This program applies to all work operations in our City where you may be exposed to hazardous I <br /> substances or harmful physical agents under normal working conditions or during an emergency <br /> situation. <br /> The Public Works Superintendent is the program coordinator and has overall responsibility for the I <br /> program. The Public Works Superintendent will review and update the program as necessary. Copies I <br /> of the written program will be issued to each Public WorksJParks employee. Additional copies may be <br /> obtained from the superintendent or the City Administrator during normal working hours. <br /> Under this program each employee will be informed of the contents of the Employee Right-to-Know I <br /> Standard, the hazardous properties of chemicals with which they work, safe handling procedures, and <br /> measures to take to protect yourselves from these chemicals. Each employee will also be informed of I <br /> the hazards associated with non-routine tasks and the hazards associated with chemicals in unlabeled <br /> pipes. <br /> List of Hazardous Chemicals eI <br /> The City of Arden Hills will make a list of all hazardous chemicals and related work practices used in <br /> its facilities, and will update the list as necessary. Our list of chemicals identifies all of the chemicals I <br /> used in work areas. A separate list is available for each work area. Each list also identifies the <br /> corresponding Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for each chemical. A master Iistofthese . <br /> chemicals will be maintained and is available in the Public WorkslParks maintenance garage office. <br /> List of Harmful Physical Allents I <br /> The City of Arden Hills will make a list of harmful physical agents when present in the workplace and <br /> where workers may be exposed to the agent through equipment use, product handling or otherwise. <br /> Heat, noise, ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radation sources must be identified for each work area I <br /> Each list also identifies the corresponding physical agent fact sheet (P AFS) for each source. <br /> Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) I <br /> MSDS provide you with specific information on the chemicals you use. The Public WorksJParks <br /> Foreman will maintain a binder in his office with an MSDS on every substance in the list of hazardous <br /> chemicals. The MSDS will be a fully completed OSHA Form 174 or equivalent. The Public Works I <br /> Superintendent will ensure that each work site maintains an MSDS for hazardous materials in that area. <br /> MSDS will be made readily available to you at your work stations during your shifts. <br /> . <br /> -- <br /> I <br />
