<br /> I" .- <br /> 1- Long Lake Regional Park. <br /> The t-ball and softball programs and playground program have begun. Each of these two <br /> 1 programs has over 120 participants and continue through July. The playground program also <br /> consists of weekly field trips to various locations, special events for preschoolers, and concludes <br /> I with the Penny Camival on July 25. <br /> Maintenance lJDdate <br /> I The park maintenance staff has constructed the play structure at Hazelnut Park. The swings will <br /> be separate from the structure and will be assembled within the next two weeks. The <br /> maintenance staff need to get caught up on other projects and mowing before they begin to <br /> I assemble the swings. There has been quite a bit of storm damage around the outer area of the <br /> Hazelnut Park through out the winter and spring. Staff will be using the wood chipper to clean <br /> up the area this week. Staff is also busy mowing and trimming parks, lift stations, and water <br /> I tower areas, These areas are mowed weekly. We typically mow grass walking trails every 3-4 <br /> weeks. <br /> I Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> At the June meeting the members made a recommendation to the Council to encourage Ramsey <br /> County to explore an alternate trail route for Highway 96. The preferred route is the alternative <br /> I that was proposed by staff, The Commission also toured Hazelnut, Lindey's, Freeway, Crepeau, <br /> Arden Oaks, and Ingerson Parks, They will be recommending improvements at a couple of these <br /> -- park areas as part of the 5 year plan, <br /> I <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> :. 3 <br /> I <br />
