Request for Pro1;Josals rRFP) I I prepared and mailed the RFP for engineering services during this past month, I anticipate moving forward with a review of these proposals during August. I 2. Midwest Asphalt Corporation Litigation I continue to meet with our attorney on the Midwest litigation, Mediation I will take place this coming Monday, 3. Mounds View High School Vandalism I The Public Works Department has spent a great deal of time trying to stay caught up on the vandalism/graffiti problems we are experiencing in thc City, A meeting has been scheduled for August 5, 1997 with the I Superintendent, High School Principal, and Student Council representatives to discuss community concerns, 1. Council Priorities ~ The City Council has asked for staff to keep them apprised of the workload issues I related to the priorities established at the 1997 Retreat. Those priorities were: . Economic Development . Bricks and Mortar . Infrastructure I . TCAAP Economic Development I The Gateway Business District (GBD) project continues to move forward as previously discussed, Mr. Ringwald has also met with a number of other I businesses looking for funding assistance (CPI, TYCOM), or have general community interest (NOTT), The Business Development and Business Relations Committees continue to work on development-related issues, Related to staffing, I we will be requesting authorization to hire a property acquisition/relocation specialist to handle any future acquisitions within the GBD, Bricks and Mortar I I continue to pursue the design of a new City Hall facility, The City Council will I be asked to make some decisions on the site location and design issues over the next two months, ..
