<br />I <br />I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />I- MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: July 24, 1997 <br />I TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Terrance Post, City Aceountant@ <br />I <br /> SUBJECT: July 1997 Finance Department Report <br />I Department Activities <br /> . Second Quarter (4/1/97 - 6/30/97) utility bills were issued on July 16,1997.115,364,390 <br />I gallons of water were purchased from the City of Roseville, and approximately <br /> 110,500,000 gallons were billed out resulting in a shrinkage factor of 4.2%. This loss <br /> factor is within expected limits. In spite of the recent wet weather we have been <br />I experiencing, there was some discussion of a possible drought in the May time frame. <br /> This is reflected in 1997 Second Quarter water purchases being 18% higher than in 1996. <br /> . In accordance with Statute requirements, the City's 1996 Financial Statement was <br />I published in the July 23,1997 edition of the ShoreviewlArden Hills Bulletin. <br /> . Although the City received its July Tax Settlement on July 7, 1997, supporting <br />Ie documentation concerning assessment payments has not yet been received from Ramsey <br /> County to internally book the transaction. <br />I August Priority Proiects <br /> . Develop the 1998 Proposed Budget to a stage where it can be reviewed and modified by <br /> Council such that it forms the basis of the Preliminary Levy proposal and new Truth in <br />I Taxation reporting requirements. <br /> . Work closely with staff on Gateway Business District development activities, and be <br /> prepared for a possible September bond issuance. <br />I . Assist the Public Works Superintendent on an implementation plan for the commercial <br /> water meter replacement project. <br />I Finance Committee DDdate <br /> . The Committee continues to proceed on a track to formally present Assessment Policy <br /> change recommendations to the City Council at the September Worksession. <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />.. <br />I <br />
