Planning Case 97-19 (Gerald Sievers, 3224 Lake Lane, Variances - Front Yard <br /> Setback/Size of Accessory Structure). The applicant owns the home at the northeast <br /> 1 corner of Lake Lane and Edgewater Avenue (on the northeast side of Lake Josephine). <br /> The existing detached garage is five feet from Lake Lane. The property is severely <br /> sloped towards Lake Lane (East to West respectively). The applicant wishes to add onto <br /> Ie this detached garage for additional accessory structure space and to correct some <br /> structural defects which currently exist on this slope. The existing structure is 572 square <br /> feet (22 feet by 26 feet) the addition would be 312 square feet (12 feet by 26 feet) for a <br /> 1 total of 884 square feet, when the maximum size allowed is 728 square feet. <br /> 2, Discussion of the regulation of Adult Uses, Pawn and Gun Shops. The Planning <br /> 1 Commission is continuing to work on the regulation of adult use, pawn and gun shops <br /> within the City. The City Attorney is being requested to be present at this meeting as we <br /> 1 are getting to the heart of the matter and we wish to ensure that our proposed actions are <br /> defensible. Also, we will be reviewing various options as its relates to the relationships <br /> of these uses to other uses (ie., 1,320 feet from any single family home vs 1,000 feet vs <br /> 1 500 feet). <br /> Protective Inspections <br /> I 1. Building Pcrmits (August). The first commerciallindustrial permit of August (# 5793) <br /> involved a $43,570 storage building at Bethel College at 3900 Bethel Drive. The second <br /> commercial/industrial permit (# 5798) involved a $250,000 interior remodel for an art <br /> 1 gallery at Northwestern College at 3003 Snelling A venue. The third <br /> commercial/industrial permit (#5799) involved a $10,000 warehouse remodel at 1242 <br /> 1 Grey Fox Road. The fourth commercial/industrial permit (#5804) involved a $25,500 <br /> reroof of 4 Pine Tree Drive. The fifth commercial/industrial permit (#5809) involved a <br /> $9,800 office remodel for Facilitech at 6 Pine Tree Drive.
