The applicant is requesting approval of a Variance for a side yard setback for a <br /> house addition (three feet proposed, when 10 feet is required) and for a deck (six inches, <br /> when 10 feet is required) on a single family lot zoned R-I (Exhibit C). <br /> B. Background. The applicant wishes to construct a house addition (kitchen expansion) to <br /> the northeast side of the home. The house addition would be approximately seven feet, - <br /> six inches in width and nine feet, nine inches in depth. The applicant also wishes to <br /> construct an attached deck directly south of the house addition. The deck would be <br /> triangular in shape and approximately 110 square feet in area. The Staff has provided a <br /> graphic which shows the relationship of these in greater detail (Exhibit C, pages 5 of 6 <br /> and 6 of 6). - <br /> C. Planning Commission recommendation.
