-
.
D. Updates. The applicant has requested that they be allowed to keep the potential for one
additional sign at the northeast entrance (visitors's entrance) without having to come back .
through the Planning Commission/City Council review process. Given, the extent of the
original signage that was approved it would seem appropriate to allow for two (2) wall signs
(west wall and northeast wall) on this structure, each of which would be 100 square feet or
less in area.
Case #97-24. Variance - side vard setback. Arlyn Solber~. 3232 North Hamline Avenue
A. Requcst. Background. The applicant wishes to construct a house addition (kitchen expansion) to
the northeast side of the home. The house addition would be approximately seven feet, -
six inches in width and nine feet, nine inches in depth. The applicant also wishes to
construct an attached deck directly south of the house addition. The deck would be
triangular in shape and approximately 110 square feet in area. The Staff has provided a
graphic which shows the relationship of these in greater detail (Exhibit C, pages 5 of 6
and 6 of 6). -
C. Planning Commission recommendation. The Planning Commission on November 5,
-
1997 recommended denial, in Planning Case 97-24, of the side yard setback variance for
the house addition (seven feet) and denial of a side yard setback variance for the attached .=
deck (nine feet six inches) based on the "Findings-Side Yard Setback Variance (house
addition and deck)" section of the Staff memorandum to the Planning Commission dated
November 5, 1997. -
-
D.
