<br /> I <br /> I. Fiscal Year. Fiscal shall be January 1 through I <br /> year .. <br /> December 31 inclusive. <br /> J. Grievance. Shall mean a dispute or disagreement regarding <br /> the interpretation or application of the specific I <br /> terms and conditions of a labor agreement or <br /> other City policy. <br /> K. Immediate Family. Immediate family shall mean the spouse, I <br /> children, siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, <br /> uncles, nephews, nieces, in-laws or I <br /> grandchildren of an employee. <br /> L. Lay-Off. Shall mean the temporary dismissal from I <br /> employment of an employee for an unspecified <br /> length of time. During a period of lay-off, <br /> employees do not accrue benefits and are not I <br /> credited with service. <br /> M. Municipal Service. Means employment with the City. I <br /> N. Non-Exempt Employee Means an employee who is not exempt from the <br /> overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards " <br /> Act. <br /> O. Overtime Means work performed at the express I <br /> authorization of the Employer in excess of the <br /> scheduled work day or 40 hours per work week. <br /> P. Position. Means employment calling for the performance I <br /> of specified tasks which constitute the total work <br /> assignment of a single employee. There are as I <br /> many positions as there are employees. <br /> Q. Probationary employee. One who has been assigned to a regular full- I <br /> time or regular part-time position but who has <br /> not completed the probationary period. I <br /> R. Probationary period. The period of six (6) months after original <br /> appointment of any regular full-time or regular I <br /> part-time employee. This period is a trial period <br /> considered as an integral part of the <br /> examination process during which an employee I <br /> is required to demonstrate fitness for the <br /> position and ability to meet required <br /> performance standards of a position. .. <br /> I <br />
