<br /> I <br />Administrator Comments for the November 24, 1997 Council Meeting I <br />Page Four <br />November 21, 1997 -. <br /> 4. Liability Insurance <br /> Terry Post and I met with TC. Field & Company officials, and have I <br /> begun working on the necessary documentation for renewal of the City's <br /> liability insurance in 1998. <br /> 5. Liquor Licenses I <br /> We have been working with the various businesses on the renewal of <br /> liquor licenses. Everything appears to be in order, and we are only waiting I <br /> on the Fire Department's compliance check prior to forwarding renewals <br /> to the City Council. <br /> 6. Tobacco Compliance I <br /> Staff attended several meetings with the North Suburban Tobacco <br /> Compliance Project on our new relationship. Compliance checks on 1 <br /> Arden Hills businesses will be completed within the week. Staff has also <br /> completed the first draft of a tobacco compliance ordinance as required by <br /> State Law. This ordinance needs to be adopted within the next two I <br /> months. <br />b. Committee Updates " <br /> 1. Newsletter Committee <br /> The Newsletter Committee will be meeting in early December to begin I <br /> work on the combined December/January holiday issue. Staff prepared <br /> several articles for this edition. We also completed and mailed the 1 <br /> November edition on November 17, 1997. <br /> 2. Youth Commission I <br /> Staff worked with Mayor Probst and Shoreview staff on preparations for <br /> the first Youth Commission meeting to be held on December 10, 1997. <br /> Approximately 10 students have been invited to the first meeting. I <br />c. Community Development <br /> 1. I-35W Corridor Coalitiou I <br /> Staff continues to meet on a regular basis with representatives of the I- I <br /> 35W Coalition. A community tour was held with approximately 30-40 <br /> people in attendance. Staff also had several meetings with the Board of <br /> Directors discussing the organizational status and projects in progress. I <br /> The Coalition was awarded an additional $135,000 in grant funds from the <br /> Metropolitan Council this week to assist with current projects. <br /> .. <br /> I <br />
