James .Le~nhoff
.m: John Lawyer [Iawjoh@bethel.edu]
t: Thursday, July 27, 2006 11 :34 AM
James Lehnhoff
Subject: Note for Planning Commission
Hi James - thanks for your help in facilitating last night. Could you
please pass the attached on the the Planning Commission members? Many
thanks.
Dear AH Planning Commission:
Please keep a close limit on the size and style of the signage on the north
side of the eastern-most building of the proposed Royal Oaks complex. I
would like to see it limited to 50 sq. feet _ r enough for identification from
the highway, but not commercial size.
r understand the north side, facing Highway 96, will be three stories tall,
and that a single real estate office plans on occupying all five units.
This will give them a huge surface area with prime exposure to the highway
and major intersection. The incentive to put up a larger, more commercial
type sign will be as strong as it is undesirable, as signage there will set
the tone for the whole project (and neighborhood!) for everybody approaching
from the east. My guess is that they will go as prominent as you let them,
so please keep it small.
I regret that I cannot be at the meeting next week in person, but we will be
out of town. Many thanks for your consideration of the above.
en Lawyer
39 Keithson Drive
Arden Hills
e
1
