On Oct. 10th, 2003 the City did a follow-up complaint inspection ofthe property regarding .
drainage issues with the new construction. At that time neither the driveway nor exterior
grading and landscaping were complctcd. Orders were issued to correct the drainage. The City
was nevcr called for a final inspection. City staff attempted to contact the owncr several times
to complete the final inspection.
Lat year whcn the City obtained additional inspection help to close out some of these
outstanding open permits, the City did do an inspection of the property and some of the
corrections had been completed but not all.
Due to the fact that the building permit to this date remains open and has yet to be final
inspected, no final certifieate of occupancy has been issued.
Summary
City stalTis unsure ofthc time table for when the current driveway configuration was installed. It
should be notcd though; the permit for construction of the new homc was issued almost two
years after the City adopted its current driveway regulations. The current driveway does not
comply with the submitted plans for permit or City Ordinance. In order for the driveway to
comply with current City ordinances, it would have to have a single access drive as shown on the
plans submitted for pcrmit, and to havc an improved hard cover surface such as asphalt, pavers,
or concrete.
.
\\Mctro-inet.us\ardcnllills\Planning\Planning Cases\2006\06-030 Lis Variance .
(PENDING)\091906 Building Official Rcview.DOC
