11 <br />Tree and Miscellaneous Watering 320 FTE labor hours required; 2 FTEs required High priority. <br />Tree watering is completed with tree bags during the first 2-3 years after planting. New trees that were <br />planted in 2024 and 2025 will receive tree bags and will be fertilized on a routine basis throughout the <br />growing season. The majority of new trees were planted in Cummings and Floral Parks and along <br />Highway 96,. The tanker truck will be used in an effort to establish grass within PW project areas where <br />restoration was completed all divisions. Other park plantings may also be watered using the tanker truck <br />depending on seasonal rainfall. <br />Newly planted trees that were planted in 2025 and are still under warranty will be inspected and <br />replaced as PW staff and the contractor agree as warrantee work. <br />Tree Mulching 60 FTE labor hours required; 1 FTEs required Medium priority. <br />Top dressing will be applied around all trees located along Highway 96 and within the ROW between <br />Highway 10 and Lexington Ave (per direction from the City Council in 2022). The Lakeshore Place trees <br />and shrubs now also includes mulching annually. <br />Forestry Mowing within Parks and along Trails.XX FTE labor hours required; 1 FTEs required Medium <br />priority. <br />The Parks Lead will work with the Superintendent to develop a map that divides the park and trial <br />property into three zones. Each year one zone will be evaluated and forestry mowed as needed. This <br />planning will provide organization for the forestry mowing process. <br />Rough Mowing – Parks, City Owned Boulevards, and Easement Clearing Areas 280 FTE labor hours <br />required; 2 FTEs required Medium priority. <br />This work is generally completed with our rough cut mower (Altoz mower). Develop a citywide map for <br />operator direction and record keeping. Rough mowing is generally completed twice through the growing <br />season. <br />Mike is working on the map and will be completed by March. <br />Text from the 2025 PWMP- <br />Create brush clearing map for easements and City-owned property to be completed, as needed, with <br />the Mini X or Altoz brush mowers. This map will be used by the operator as direction in the field <br />annually. The map should identify mowing frequency, boundaries, and track the last time mowed. <br />Trail/Park Tree Trimming and Diseased/Hazard Tree Removal 300 FTE labor hours estimated; 3 FTEs <br />required Medium Priority. <br />x Perry Park near the hockey rink . <br />x Perry Park behind field 1.
