Circuit breaker operating handles accessible with interior doors closed. <br />K. All control relays, timers, pushbuttons, selector switches, PLC’s, power supplies and other devices shall <br />be provided in the control panel to meet the intent of the Contract Documents. <br />L. Internal heaters with adjustable thermostat control to prevent condensation and freezing. Heaters shall <br />be sized as required to maintain temperature required for proper operation of all components inside <br />the panel. <br />M. Panel Ventilation/Cooling: ventilation and/or cooling shall be per manufacturer to maintain proper <br />operating temperature for the components in the control panel. <br />1. Ventilation – As recommended by Control Panel Supplier <br />a. Thermostatically controlled vent fan and fixed intake/discharge louvers. <br />b. Air filters, filter retainer, filter sealing gasket and finger guard. <br />c. Stainless steel shroud kits with finish to match panel. <br />2. Air Conditioning – As recommended by Control Panel Supplier <br />a. Closed loop air conditioner with removable filter and integral thermostat. <br />b. UL Listed for outdoor use. <br />c. Mount on the side of control panel. <br />d. Size: Air conditioner shall maintain an ambient temperature inside of the enclosure of at least <br />10 degrees F less than the maximum operating temperature of all devices in the control panel. <br />3. Design shall be for the following environment extremes: <br />a. Summer: Direct sunlight exposure on the cabinet with an outdoor air temperature of 105 <br />degrees F and all components, drives and devices operating at 100% capacity. <br />b. Winter: Outside ambient temperature as low as -60 degree F in darkness. <br />N. Control panels shall be provided with a control circuit surge arrestor, power supplies, and UPS. <br />O. Each control panel shall include a means for the PLC to monitor a power failure condition on the line <br />side of the UPS. <br />P. All input and output circuits which tie to field terminals shall be individually fused. Additionally, each <br />analog circuit shall include individual transient voltage surge protections as specified in the section. <br />Q. All interface with instrumentation located outside of the panel shall be via interface relays. <br />Terminations directly to PLC output or input module terminals is not acceptable. <br />R. 1/2” EVA Foam insulation on interior of panel. Foam shall be secured to the panel in such a manner the <br />glue or tape doesn’t degrade for a minimum of 20years. <br />S. A 12” tall x 12” wide x 1” deep pocket secured to the inside of the exterior door shall be provided for <br />clipboard, control panel schematic drawings and other document storage. <br />T. Interior light for each compartment which turns on when the compartment door is opened. <br />U. A compartment barrier shall be provided to separate the high voltage components from the control <br />components. <br />V. Sized to house all control components, with spare space on back panel to add 10% of each relay, fuse, <br />PLC I/O card, breaker, and terminal blocks provided under this project. <br />W. The dimensions of panel shall be as such to allow for the UPS to sit on the bottom or base of the control <br />side compartment. Mounting the UPS to the side, the back, the top or any other space other than <br />setting on the bottom of the panel will not be accepted.
