<br /> . <br /> Administrator Comments for the January 5, 1998 Council Meeting <br /> - Page Five <br /> January 2,1998 <br /> The Coalition has very aggressive goals for 1998, and will be preparing <br /> updates for participating City Councils as we proceed into the new year. <br /> 2. Gatewav Business District (GBD) <br /> Staff has continued to participate in meetings with attomeys, developers <br /> and engineers on this project. Attorney Filla has received executed copies <br /> of the Purchase Agreement with Naegele/Morris Communications. Staff <br /> will now begin scheduling the various closings on the property sales and <br /> bond sale. In addition, Morris has provided the tenants of the billboards <br /> on Round Lake Road Notice to Vacate. <br /> 3. TCAAP <br /> Meetings were held with Army and Alliant officials to discuss various <br /> excessing issues. Additional meetings are scheduled for early January. <br /> d. Personnel <br /> 1. Union Negotiations <br /> Several minor corrections were made to the Local No, 49 contract, and the <br /> - contract has been tinalized with Local 49 officials. <br /> 2. Policv Manual <br /> Staff continues to make revisions to the Policy Manual, and will make a <br /> presentation to the City Council in late January or early February. <br /> 3. Health Insurance RenewallReview <br /> Staff met with various brokers and Ramsey County in order to review our <br /> options and a variety of health plans. The City will be continuing <br /> coverage with Medica in January, but staff will be recommending changes <br /> beginning in February. <br /> 4. Miscellaneous <br /> Several positive public relations events took place in December. Those <br /> included the preparation of the internal staff newsletter, Council/Staff <br /> Christmas potluck, staff Christmas party held at Mr. Stafford's home, and <br /> the year-end employee recognition. <br /> e. Public Works/Safety <br /> 1. Consulting Engineering Transition <br /> . Staff met to review final punch list items to close affiliation with <br /> MSAlHoward R. Green, Howard R. Green will be completing the as-built <br /> project on January 5, 1998, and City staff will be meeting with MSA to <br />
