Therefore, the request to amend the SUP to retlect current trip . <br /> rates for households. <br /> The site plan is for a new dormitory which is shown on the Master Plan. It includes a <br /> height variance (40 feet). The Master Plan showed the dormitory as a walk out on a <br /> hillside. The applicant wishes to save the oak trees on the hillside and so has pulled the <br /> building to the toe of the slope, but in doing so has exposed the entire basement which <br /> then causes the building to exceed the maximum height requirement of 35 feet. <br /> Lastly, the applicant is also requesting approval for an expansion to their Science, Art, <br /> and Technology building (adjacent to the Community Life Center). The expansion was <br /> shown on the Master Plan. The request includes a height variance (40 feet). The existing <br /> building exceeds the height requirement and the new addition would be the same height <br /> as the existing building. <br />5. City of Arden Hills/Shepley, Variance-garage/street vacation, 1550 Oak Avenue, <br /> Planning Case 98-08. The City as part of the Shepley Settlement Agreement is bound to <br /> consider the granting of a variance for the Shepley house/garage. Additionally, the City <br /> agreed to vacate certain excess right-of-way as a part of that Settlement Agreement. <br />6. Comprehensive Plan update. The Planning Commission will be hosting a City <br /> Council/All Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 1998, to discuss the e <br /> Comprehensive Plan update. The first (#5937) was for a reroofing project ($170,000) at 1260 Red Fox Road. <br /> The second (#5939) was for an office remodel (553,206) at 3900 Northwoods Drive. <br /> In February, the City issued nine residential remodeling permits which ranged in value <br /> from 5700.00 to 524,288.00 and had a total value of 597,497.00 and had an average value <br /> of $1 0,833 .00. <br />2. Sign Permits. In Febmary, the City issued no sign permits. <br />Economic Develo\lment <br />1. Gateway Business District. It's closed.....It's closed....Contrary to popular belief this <br /> project appears to be finally wrapping up. The construction of Phases II, III, and IV (ie., <br /> earthwork) will commence out on the site within the next ten days. The value of these <br /> three buildings, which is conservatively estimated at 58,000,000 will once again jump <br /> start the City revenues. <br /> The City and Morris Communications also appcar to making headway with Mr. Vaughan . <br /> on the tree's for access swap which will facilitate minimizing the height of the billboar,ds. <br />
