--------
Stop signs were installed at Dunlap Avenue and Tiller Lane as approved by Council. These
signs are a new type made of all plastic. They cost slightly less and graffiti supposedly comes
off easy, so Public Works wanted to try them. .
The Public Works Director continues to work with Bethel on the Hamline odor problem, and has
provided Bethel and their engineers with several possible solutions to the problem.
Loans and Grant monies have been applied for on sewer inspection and repair.
The City has received quotes for televising of sewer lines this year as part of the Public Works
Program to televise all City sewer mains. Those quotes will be presented to Council for approval
to award a contract. This year Public Works is trying to complete televising around Lake
Johanna as the low wet areas are most likely to have infiltration problems.
The City Engineer and Public Works Director have met with New Brighton Public Works and
received their input on Stowe Avenue plans. Also, maintenance was again discussed and the
New Brighton Public Works Director, Mr. Proper seems very fair and easy to work with.
Two Public Works Employees and the Director received Trenching Safety and Confined Space
Training in February. This is an OSHA requirement.
DS\jt
.
,
.
