<br /> -. , <br /> Economic Development <br /> 1. Gateway Business District. The construction of Phases II, III, and IV (ie., earthwork <br /> and foundations) are well under way. Dave has been spending considerable time on this . <br /> project ensuring plan compliance. The Universal Signs on Interstate 35W were removed. <br /> The two remaining billboards (Morris Communications) are scheduled to be updated in <br /> Mid-May. It appears at this time that the easterly sign will remain at its current height, <br /> but back from the r.o.w approximately five fect, and the westerly sign will increase in <br /> height seven feet, but stay at its approximate current location. <br /> 2. Economic Development Finance Professional training. I will be out the week of April <br /> 20-24 at EDFP training. The training culminates in certification by the National <br /> Development Council after the successful completion of four training sessions, with an <br /> examination at the end of each week. Two years ago I took week one and I am currently <br /> taking the week two training. <br /> Recvclin~ <br /> 1. Spring Clean Up Day. The Shoreview/Arden Hills clean up day is slated for Saturday, <br /> May 2, 1998. The brochures have been mailed (Exhibit A). <br /> Code Enforcement <br /> 1. 1900 Edgewater Avenue. As noted in the Protective Inspections section of this report, <br /> this long time eye sore is finally having a new home constructed on the property. <br /> 2. 1369 Forest Lane. The City received a judgement against this property owner last week . <br /> in Ramsey County Circuit Court. The applicant has until August 15, 1998 to bring the <br /> structure into full compliance or the City can raze the structure. Also, the City is to be <br /> awarded damages from the property owner for its expenses related to this case. <br /> 3. 1875 Lake Lane. The owner of the property has started the clean up of the property. <br /> The Building Official is scheduled to re-inspect the structure at the end of this month at <br /> which time the homeowner should have almost all of the structures (house and garage) <br /> cleaned up and ready to commence the repair work. <br /> 4. 3171/3183 Lexington Avenue. The landowner, Tony Andersen, has agreed to raze the <br /> two structures in question. The Building Official is working with the landowner to <br /> coordinate the timely removal of these two buildings as soon as possible (30 days). <br /> . <br />
