MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 27, 1998 <br /> TO: Mayor and City Conncil <br /> . <br /> FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director - <br /> SUBJECT: Community Development Department Activities April of 998 <br /> The following summarizes the activities of the Community Development Department for April <br /> of 1998. <br /> Plannin~ Commission - June <br /> The June of 1998 Planning Commission meeting is being canceled so that I may take a vacation. <br /> Comprehensive Plan nlldate <br /> The Planning Commission continues to meet to discuss the update to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> At the last meeting, April 15, 1998, they discussed the revised draft of the goals for the update <br /> and the land use element of the update. The Planning Commission will next meet on <br /> Wednesday, May 20, 1998. As always, I will keep you informed of the Planning Commissions <br /> . progress. Lastly, your attendance at these meeting is welcome. <br /> Protective Inspections <br /> 1. Building Permits (April). The City issued three commercial/industrial permits in April. <br /> The first (#5980) was for the interior build out of Phase IV of the Gateway project <br /> ($3,753,368) at 1987 Gateway Boulevard. The second (#5999) was for a parking lot <br /> alteration at CPI (5142,700) at 4100 Hamline Avenue. Lastly, the third (#6013) was for <br /> the new Roberts Building (Planning Case 98-06) for $805,272 at 1160 Red Fox Road. <br /> The total valuation added by these building permits was $4,701,340.00 with an average <br /> valuation of 5 1 ,567, 113.33. <br /> In April, the City issued 24 residential remodeling permits which ranged in value from <br /> $1,200.00 to $83,000.00 and had a total value of $343,517.00 and had an average value <br /> of S 14,313 .21. In April, the City issued one permit for a new residential home at 1900 <br /> Edgewater Avenue which had a value of 127,660.00. <br /> 2. Sign Permits. In April, the City issued one sign permit, 98.05, a temporary sign (17 <br /> days) for Natalie's Cafe at 3673 Lexington Avenue (Shannon Square). <br /> . <br />
