-
..
- Administrator Comments for the April 24, 1998 Council Meeting
Page Three
April 24, 1998
1. City Hall Relocation
The major undertaking by Administration this month were the many
activities related to the City Hall relocation. This has included lease
arrangements, office layout, phone system, coordination of move, furniture
acquisition, public notification, vendor notification, etc. This will
continue to be a major activity of the department for the next several
weeks.
2, New City Hall
Staff has been in contact with the architect to make them aware of the
short-term change of plans. We continue to meet to work on the details of
the design, and should be prepared to approach the Planning Commission
early this summer.
~
3. Community Representations
As City Administrator, I've attended a variety of meetings representing the
City this past month. Among others, these have included Ramsey County
Sheriffs Contract Group, RAB, North Suburban Cable Commission, Quad
- Ice Arena Tour, 1~35W Corridor Coalition Board of Directors, and LMCIT
Loss Control Workshop.
4. Finance Department
Since Jane Lund's retirement, Finance staff has been involved with
training a temporary employee and closely monitoring payroll and
accounts payable activities.
All of the commercial/industrial remote meters have been installed and
used for billing purposes with the exception of the large Bethel meter.
b, Committee Updates
The City Administrator has also attended committee meetings of the Newsletter
Committee, Business Relations Committee, and the Comprehensive Plan
subgroup.
The last Finance Committee meeting brought some degree of closure to the
ongoing study of the Assessment Policy. At the May meeting, the committee will
be voting up or down several recommendations.
-
---------
