MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: May 26, 1998 <br /> TO: M,yo< "d C"y ComH .fX" <br /> FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Directo <br /> SUBJECT: Community Development Department Activities May of 1998 <br /> The following summarizes the activities of the Community Development Department for May of <br /> 1998. <br /> Planning Commission - June <br /> The June of 1998 Planning Commission meeting is being canceled so that I may take a vacation. <br /> Associate Planner <br /> The deadline for applying for the Associate Planner position will close on Friday, May 29, 1998. <br /> The level of interest in the position has been extremely high, hopefully the quality of applicants <br /> will match that interest level. <br />. Comprehensive Plan update <br /> The Planning Commission continues to meet to discuss the update to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> At the last meeting, May 20, 1998, the Planning Commission discussed the final draft of the Park <br /> and Trail map, Land Use Element text, Housing goals, and started the discussion on the <br /> Transportation Element. The Planning Commission will have its next worksession on <br /> Wednesday, June 17, 1998. Lastly, your attendance at these meeting is welcome and appreciated. <br /> Protective Inspections <br /> 1. Building Permits (May). The City issued three commercial/industrial permits in May. <br /> The first (#6038) was for the antenna install ($20,000) at 1230 Red Fox Road. The <br /> second (#6047) was for a office remodel ($76,000) at 1260 Grey Fox Road. Lastly, the <br /> third (#6049) was for an interior refinish ($20 I ,318) at 1160 Red Fox Road. The total <br /> valuation added by these building permits was $297,318.00 with an average valuation of <br /> $99, I 06.00. <br /> In May, the City issued 19 residential remodeling permits which ranged in value from <br /> $1,000.00 to $40,000.00 and had a total value of $ 118,872.00 and had an average value <br /> of $6,256.42. <br /> 2. Sign Permits. In May, the City issued no sign permits. <br />. <br />
