<br />3. Shoreview tornado damage. The City borrowed the services of our Building Official to <br /> the City of Shoreview to expedite the inspection process of homes that were damaged by . <br /> the tornado which occurred on Friday, May 15, 1998. Dave was assigned to inspect the <br /> hardest hit area (south of Snail Lake in the area of Gramsie Road and Mackubin Street). <br /> In the three days of inspecting Dave conducted approximately 50 detailed inspections (5 <br /> homes were placarded as uninhabitable) and visually inspected every home in this area. <br /> The City has received large accolades from the City of Shoreview and its residents for <br /> Dave's hard work and professionalism. Goodjob Dave! <br />Economic Development <br />L Gateway Business District. The construction of Phases II, III, and IV (ie., steel erection <br /> and panel installation) are well under way. Dave has been spending considerable time on <br /> this project ensuring plan compliance. The steel for the two remaining billboards (Morris <br /> Communications) has been ordered and are now scheduled to be updated in July. The <br /> easterly sign will remain at its current height, but will be setback from the right-of-way <br /> approximately five feet, and the westerly sign will increase in height seven feet, but stay <br /> at its approximate current location. The Staff continues to work with the developer on the <br /> City trail connections through the project and also hopefully will wrap up the landscaping <br /> issues with Phase I shortly. Lastly, the appraisal for the Indykiewicz property should be <br /> available any day. <br />2. Lexington Fox Illustrative Plan. <br /> The City has received the revised proposal from the consultant which was consistent with <br /> the modifications suggested by the City Council. The City Administrator has executed . <br /> the document. The Staff has been in contact with the consultant to coordinate the transfer <br /> of existing GIS data to the consultant. The consultant plans to attend the next BDC <br /> meeting on June 17, 1998 and present some initial concepts for their review. <br />Recycling <br />L SCORE Grant. The City recently received the SCORE grant from Ramsey County <br /> which assists in the funding for this program. <br />Code Enforcement <br />L 1369 Forest Lane. After the City received a judgement against this property, the City <br /> has not heard from the owner if they are going to proceed with repairs or tear down the <br /> stmcture. As previously reported, the O\vner has until August 15, 1998 to bring the <br /> stmcture into full compliance or the City can raze the stmcture. <br />2. 3171/3183 Lexington Avenue. The landowner, Tony Andersen, has agreed to raze the <br /> two stmctures in question. The Building Official recently wrote the owner to remind him <br /> that he had previously agreed to raze these structures within 30 days. <br />3. 1700 Highway 96 (North Heights Lutheran Church). After much foot dragging by the <br /> contractor the brick enhancements on the southwest corner of the building addition has <br /> been commenced. The brick work need to be completed by June 15, 1998. <br /> . <br />
