MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: July 23, 1998 <br /> TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director ~~, <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Department Head Report <br /> Puhlic Safety Commission <br /> The City of Arden Hills Public Safety Commission did not meet this month. <br /> Gateway <br /> Buildings II, III, and IV are nearly completed on the outside. Painting, landscaping, and blacktop <br /> work are currently in progress. <br /> Gateway Boulevard has the first layer of blacktop down and the south boulevard seeded. <br /> Utilities; gas, electric, and telephone, are being installed in the north boulevard. A curb cut was <br /> . installed at the end of Gateway Boulevard where Welsh has built a gravel access road for the <br /> Vaughan property. <br /> 1998 Street Project <br /> Edgewater Avenue now has the first layer of blacktop down and most of the landscaping is <br /> finished. Manholes and water valves are being adjusted to finish grade elevation now, however, <br /> the final layer of blacktop will not be laid until all other work is completed. <br /> Stowe Avenue stoml sewer work is complete. Sub-cutting the street and installing the granular <br /> sub-base and class 5 material is nearly complete. Curb and gutter work should begin within the <br /> next few days. Staff has asked that new flyers with updated schedules be delivered to the Stowe <br /> . Avenue and Fairview Avenue residents. Several delays have occurred on these streets due to <br /> rain and the locations of telephone and fiber-optics cables, <br /> On Fairview Avenue only gas mains have been replaced so far. Street work is expected to begin <br /> within the next few days, <br /> Puhlic Works <br /> Public Works employees are currently removing the dilapidated wood fence which separates the <br /> Public Works Garage and the old City Hall from the town houses to the south. Public Works <br /> . will replace 100 feet of the fence with a treated wood fence of similar design. Existing trees <br /> provide an adequate barrier for the rest ofthe property line. <br />
