Personnel <br /> Staff completed the review of applications, acquired background checks, <br /> and monitored the hiring process that was conducted by the Community <br /> Development department. <br /> Other personnel issues included the streamlining of hiring procedures, and <br /> completion of documentation related to this process, A new hiring packet <br /> and exit packet has been prepared for employees, <br /> Staff continues to work with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Fortis on billing <br /> problems since we began coverage with these companies. <br /> Staff attended the annual League of Minnesota Cities Clerks' Orientation <br /> Conference. There will be several changes we will attempt to make in the <br /> areas of liquor license, record retention and other areas. <br /> 7, Public Works ISafety <br /> . a. Fire Contract <br /> Staff participated in ajoint Special Council meeting with the Cities <br /> of Shoreview and North Oaks regarding the Lake Johanna <br /> Volunteer Fire Department contract and the Joint Powers <br /> Agreement. In addition, staff has been negotiating this contract <br /> with all parties. The City Attorney has been involved in the <br /> negotiations on behalf of Arden Hills/Shoreview, and has <br /> completed all of the paperwork. <br /> b. NSP Meters <br /> Staff met with NSP to discuss new gas and electric meters being <br /> rcplaced in all homes within Arden Hills. This is expected to begin <br /> within the year. <br /> c. Committee Updates <br /> Staff was active in the advertising and interview process for the Planning <br /> Commission vacancy, <br /> . <br />
