...
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
. MEMORANDUM
DATE: September 28, 1998
TO: M,ye< "d CHy Com" f((--
FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Assistant to the City Administrator
SUBJECT: Community Development Department Activities September of 1998
The following summarizes the activities of the Community Development Department for
September of 1998.
Planning Commission - October of 1998
1. Case #98-24 CSM Corporation (DynaMark), 4295 Lexington Ave., Site Plan
Review. The applicant is requesting site plan approval for a two story
office building (96,900 square feet) on the DynaMark campus. The new
"building" would be attached to the original DynaMark building at 4285
Lexington A venue. Thc proposal appears to be consistent to the PUD (PC
96-05 Control Data) that was approved in July of 1996. The new building
. would function as thc corporate headquarters for DynaMark. The
DynaMark buildings at 4255 & 4265 Lexington Avenue would frame the
second story of the building.
2. Case #98-25 Brctt Dallmann, 3564 Snelling Ave., Variance (front yard setback).
The applicant wishes to utilize his existing garage as additional house
space and build a new garagc. Howevcr, the new garage does not mect the
rcquired front yard setback (14 fcet proposcd, when 40 feet is required).
The properties on this street are unique in that thcy have an extremely
large boulevard area (approximately 90 feet in width, whcn typically it is
15 feet), so the homes appear to be setback from the street more than
nom1a1 when in fact they are at the front setback line. The applicants
contractor has provided the Building Official with an altemate plan which
does not require a variance. The Staff will be recommending denial of this
request.
3. Case #98-26 Gregg Larson, 3377 Snelling Ave., Minor subdivision/consolidation.
The applicant has purchased the home at 3371 Snelling Avenue and
wishes to modify the property line between the two properties. The
rcquest would not create any non-conformities and would rcsult in parcels
that were 2.2 acres in size (3377 Snelling A venue) and 1.1 acres in size
(3371 Snelling Avenue).
.
