MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: October 26, 1998 <br /> TO: M,y" "d Ci<y C,",dl ~ <br /> FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Community Development Department Activities October of 1998 <br /> The following summarizes the activities of the Community Development Department for <br /> October of 1998. <br /> Planning Commission - November of 1998 <br /> Case #98-28 City of Arden Hills, Comprehensive Plan Update. The City is requesting <br /> approval of the state mandated update to the Comprehensive Plan. The Plan has <br /> nine chapters, which are: Chapter 1, Introduction; Chapter 2, Overall Goals; <br /> Chapter 3, Land Use; Chapter 4, Housing; Chapter 5, Parks and Trails; Chapter 6, <br /> Protected Resources; Chapter 7, Transportation; Chapter 8, Public Facilities and <br /> Services; and Chapter 9, Implementation. <br />. It is anticipated that the Planning Commission recommendation will come to the <br /> City Council on Monday, November 9,1998. The document, if approved by the <br /> City Council, will then be transmitted to the adjacent Cities, School Districts, <br /> Ramsey County, Rice Creek Watershed District, and the Metropolitan Council for <br /> their review and comment. <br /> Protective Inspections <br /> 1. Building Permits (October). The City issued seven commercial/industrial permits in <br /> May. The first (#6232) was for an interior remodel for Land 0' Lakes (5600,000) at 1275 <br /> Red Fox Road. The second (#6241) was for a office remodel ($60,000) at 4201 Lexington <br /> Avenue. The third (#6246) was for an interior remodel ($12,775) at 3561 Lexington <br /> Avenue. The fourth (#6247) was for an interior remodel ($34,500) at 1160 Grey Fox <br /> Road. The fifth (#6248) was to install two fitting rooms ($1,000) at 3547 Lexington <br /> Avenue. The sixth (#6253) was to construct interior corridors ($32,000) at 4201 <br /> Lexington Avenue. Lastly, the seventh (#6264) was for an office remodel ($107,000) at <br /> 1306 County Road F. The total valuation added by these building permits was <br /> $847,275.00 with an average valuation of$I21,039.29. <br /> In October, the City issued 23 residential remodeling permits which ranged in value from <br /> 5500.00 to 560,000.00 and had a total value of$199,497.00 and had an average value of <br /> 58,673.78. Lastly, the City issued two permits for a new residences for 3194 Shoreline <br />. Lane ($150,974) and 3193 Shoreline Lane (141,811). <br />
