<br />2. Sign Permits. In October, the City has issued one sign permit (temporary) to the Holiday <br /> Inn at 1201 West County Road E. . <br />Economic Development <br />1. Gateway Business District. The City Attorney and the City's Acquisition Specialist <br /> (Bud Storm-Evergreen Land Services) continue to discuss with the Indykiewicz's and <br /> their attorney on the possibility of a negotiated settlement. The City Attorney has been <br /> discussing with the Indykiewicz's Attorney issues related to re-use of the property if a <br /> partial taking is pursued. The City's Acquisition Specialist has been continuing to <br /> provide the Indykiewicz's with information related to their right's under the states <br /> relocation laws. <br />2. Business Development Committee. The Business Development Committee (BDC) <br /> continues to work on the Lexington/Fox Study. The BDC has requested that they be <br /> allowed to allocate the remaining portion of the $5,000 allocated to them for this study, <br /> which is approximately $1,000.00, to engage the City's financial consultant (Ehler's and <br /> Associates) to prepare a mock tax revenue list for the proposed plan. <br />3. Business Relations Committee. The Business Relations Committee (BRC) recently <br /> attended the Grand Opening of the Horn store in the former Carroll's Furniture location at <br /> 1203 County Road E. The BRC also recently met with a representative of the Suburban <br /> Chamber of Commerce and brainstOlmed about potential collaborative efforts. <br />Recycling . <br />Fall Clean Up Day. The joint Fall Clean Up Day with the City of Shoreview occurred on <br />Saturday, October 3, 1998. <br />Code Enforcement <br />1. 1369 Forest Lane. The property owner, Mr. Steve Nixon, obtained a building permit for <br /> his home at 1369 Forest Lane on Thursday, October 22,1998. The Staff will be <br /> conducting an inspection of the premises with the property owner on Friday, October 23, <br /> 1998, so that he is clear on what corrections to the structure are required. <br />2. 3171/3183 Lexington Avenue. The City sent the owner of the property a letter <br /> informing them that they are in default of the legal agreement signed by the parties <br /> relating to the demolition of these structures and that if the property is not brought into <br /> compliance with this agreement by Friday, October 30, 1998, then the City will pursue its <br /> ability to collect on the $20,000 and demolish the stmctures. <br />3. 1875 Lake Lane. The owner of the property has essentially completed the clean up of <br /> the interior of the house. However, the structural components of the house still require <br /> work so that they do not pose a problem to the public's safety. The property owner has <br /> now sold the property. The new owner wishes to bring the house into code compliance. <br /> The Staff will work with this owner to arrange a mutually agreeable time schedule for <br /> this activity to take place. <br /> . <br />
