It sets overall direction and <br /> provides a framework for on-going decision making within the City. It contains the larger <br /> picture goals and policies as well as some specific items to achieve the City's preferred <br /> future. The following items address specific measures to be taken by the City to implement <br /> the goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> II. IMPLEMENTATION OF SPECIFIC CHAPTERS <br /> Chapter 1: Introduction <br /> I. The 2000 Census data will be available in 2002. This section will need to be revised to <br /> indicate the new statistics. <br /> Chapter 3: Land Use <br /> South of <br /> Highway #96 Since nearly all of the land south of Highway #96 is developed, the <br /> emphasis in this area is to continue to strengthen the neighborhoods, <br /> parks and trails, businesses and employment centers that exist. The <br /> . City will continue to work with the North Metro I-35W Corridor <br /> Coalition on common issues that work to protect and improve <br /> neighborhoods. <br /> I. Develop a new zoning district, Neighborhood Business, designed <br /> to allow some limited, compatible commercial uses to be located <br /> on the edge of neighborhoods, providing goods and services for <br /> nearby citizens. <br /> 2. Continue to work with the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition <br /> on sub-regional planning processes and issues in order to support , <br /> the Land Use Plan for Arden Hills. <br /> 3. Update the zoning ordinance to reflect the Land Use Plan in the <br /> area south of Highway #96 include: <br /> 4.
