The enclosed feasibility report addendum information is intended to augment the
feasibility report for the 1999 Street Improvements Project which was submitted to the
Council on October 13, 1998. The report was tabled prior to the October 13, 1998
Council meeting in order to gather additional direction from the council about the
potential development of the remaining Gateway Business District properties. Since the
original report preparation, several discussions between staff, council and property
owners have taken place regarding the proposed reconstruction of West Round Lake
Road. As a product of these discussions this addendum details an additional alternate
roadway section for consideration by the Council.
An informal property owners meeting was held at City Hall on October 29, 1998 in order ,
to gather feedback from the businesses currently utilizing West Round Lake Road. Two
requests were voiced by the attendees regarding the proposed range of alternatives. All
attendees objected to the alternates with medians, however the inclusion ofleft turn lanes
was very important to the attendees. Secondly, a number of employees utilize public
transportation and currently have to walk along the roadside to and from work. For this
reason the attendees all requested that a sidewalk be included with the improvements.
Based upon this feedback and discussions with staff, Alternative D was developed to be
considered with the other alternatives for the project.
e
U:\WPDOCS\ARDENHIL\ROUNDLAK\FEASADDN.MEM
