<br /> Administrator Comments for the November 30,1998 Council Meeting e <br /> Page Six <br /> November 25, 1998 <br /> Personnel <br /> Staff has begun some of the preliminary work regarding the notification to all Cobra <br /> participants on health and dental insurance increases. <br /> With the resignation of Ms. Walsh, staff has begun studying the options available to the <br /> City for filling this position and other potential restructuring options. Staff has prepared a <br /> report for consideration by the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> The City accepted resignations from JeffKoesling and Janet Owens. We have been <br /> advertising for the Parks Maintenance position, and will wait until the Council discusses <br /> any organizational changes before advertising for the Receptionist position. <br /> Park Development <br /> I attended the October 27,1998 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to provide an <br /> update on the various park development activities. I will also be attending their <br /> December 1, 1998. The various parks development projects I've been working on this <br /> past month include: <br /> 0 Arden Manor Park <br /> I met with the City Engineer to review some minor improvements made by Mr. e <br /> Husnik in an attempt to address our drainage concems. The Parks Commission <br /> will need to discuss further their plans for redevelopment in order for staff to get a <br /> better handle on their drainage needs. <br /> 0 Bethel Park <br /> Bethel presented the draft concept plan for the joint Bethel Park project on <br /> November 18th. Staff has prepared information for the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission's review on December I". In addition, staff has notified, by phone, <br /> several residents of the Chatham neighborhood ofthe receipt of this plan. <br /> 0 Play~round Structure Replacement <br /> I met with Ms. Walsh to gain an understanding of the process used to replace the <br /> playground structures. I have the list of contractors prepared and will now work <br /> on the bid letter. <br /> .. .- Public Works ISafety <br /> . Hi~hway 96 <br /> The Mayor and staff met with Joseph Strauss and other individuals about the <br /> financing of Highway 96. The I-35W Corridor Coalition is assisting Arden Hills <br /> and some ofthe other coalition cities with determining the status offunds for the <br /> various highway improvement projects. e <br />
