,
e CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: December 10, 1998
TO: Mayor and City Council /P.)
FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrato
SUBJECT: 1999 - 2003 Capital Improvement Plan
Backl!round
The 1999-2003 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) details the various equipment purchases and projects
being considered over the next five (5) years. The CIP document is intended to serve as a guide and
financial planning tool for the various expenditures being considered by the City during this time period.
The City historically begins working on the CIP as part of its annual budget process. In April of each
year, City staff reviews the previous year's CIP and presents a draft proposal for Council review in May
and June. The attached CIP is, for the most part, consistent with the preliminary CIP approved this past
June. There have been some clarifications to the cost of projects, and some projects have been delayed
e further into the future.
The attached plan includes the detail to assist interested parties in understanding the rationale behind the
five year plan. The 1999 Budget has been developed including those items detailed in the five year CIP,
Recommendation
The City Council is asked to adopt Resolution #98-77, adopting the 1999-2003 Capital Improvement
Plan.
BF/sls
e
