Business District, 14th Street Northeast project on October 14, 1997. Lametti & Sons low bid <br /> was $713,700.00; Change Order #1 was approved by the Council on October 14, 1997 increasing <br /> the contract amount by $17.000.00 to $730,700.00. Change Order #2 was approved by the <br /> Council on December 15, 1998 increasing the contract amount by $193,726.50 to $924,426.50. <br /> Change Order #3 was approved by the Council on August 31, 1998 increasing the contract <br /> anlount by $29,650.00 to $954,076.50. <br /> ~,rpose of Change Orllf'f #4 <br /> Change Order #4 and the accompanying Payment Request #7 constitute Final Payment for the <br /> Gateway Boulevard project with the exception of a 2% retainage (approximately $22,000.00) <br /> which is being held until all punchlist items are satisfactorily completed. It is anticipated. that the <br /> retainage will be released with a final payment issued in the Spring of1999. <br /> A significant amount of the items included in Change Order #4 were negotiated with the <br /> contractor based upon comparing records ofmllterials, equipment and labor spent accomplishing <br /> the work. The City Engineer and the Contractor have had several meetings since August to <br /> evaluate each item and agree 011 a price which both represents the effort of the Contractor and <br /> compares to typical industry going rates for work originally bid. Where appropriate, additional <br /> work was paid for using existing contract prices. This process has taken several iterations and <br /> therefor the application for Change Order #4 is submitted much later than desu'ed by the City <br /> Engineer. <br /> Change Order #4 includes work associated with five main categories which are described below: <br />.
