<br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Administrator Comments for the January 4, 1999 Council Meeting <br />Page Seven <br />December 30, 1998 <br /> <br />The City met with Shoreview and has discussed the creation of a shared Building <br />Inspector position. More discussion will take place after the first of January. <br /> <br />. Employee Benefits <br />Staff held a meeting with representatives of DCA, Inc. who discussed our Flexible <br />Spending Account benefit. <br /> <br />Staff has also discussed our 1999 renewals of health and dental insurance. The <br />City received an increase of eight percent (8%) in health and fifteen (15%) in <br />dental premiums for 1999. <br /> <br />Staff has notified all current COBRA-qualified employees of these increases. In <br />addition, staff has been working with our insurance agents and the State regarding <br />State of Minnesota regulations which apply to retired local government employees <br />and their entitlement to COBRA coverage. <br /> <br />Park Development <br />I attended the December 1" Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to provide an <br />update on the various park development activities. The various parks development <br />projects I've been working on this past month include: <br /> <br />. Arden Manor Park <br />I met with Greg Brown and have requested that a meeting be scheduled with one <br />of BR W's staff to develop a sketch plan for the redevelopment of Arden Manor <br />Park. I hope to have such a plan prepared for the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission's review sometime in January or February. <br /> <br />. Bethel Park <br />The Bethel Park Concept Plan will be discussed at the January 7'h meeting ofthe <br />Parks and Recreation Commission. Staff has continued to meet with Bethel <br />College to clarifY some of the basic issues related to this project. I anticipate a <br />recommendation from the Commission to be forwarded to the City Council after <br />this meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />County Road F Trail <br />I have been working on the finalization of the required EA W for this project. <br />Requests have been sent to the DNR and the Minnesota Historical Society to <br />provide any impacts of this project on endangered plant or animal life. Once this <br />information is received, I will ask the City Council and engineer to proceed with <br />design of the proj ect. <br />
