Utilitv Rate Revisions <br />Based upon Council action at the December 14, 1998 meeting, utility rates will be <br />changed effective first quarter, 1999. As a side note, the only comments heard at <br />City Hall as a result of the "Senior Sewer" newspaper article, were a flurry of <br />seniors wanting to apply for the rate. <br /> <br />. 1999 Budget Adoption <br />The finalized budget and levy information was certified to Ramsey County and <br />the State of Minnesota Revenue Department on December 16, 1998. The City has <br />a statutory obligation to publish a "1999 City Summary Budget Data" in the <br />official newspaper and to the Office of the State Auditor before January 31, 1999. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1998 External Audit <br />A representative from the firm of Abdo Abo Eick & Meyers was on site on <br />December 22, 1998 to perform some pre-audit procedures including reviewing <br />Council Minutes, reviewing contracts, analyzing fixed asset additions and <br />removals, bond issuance information and requesting various year-end audit <br />conflITllations. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. Capital Improvement Plan <br />Staff has been working on the final revisions to the five-year Capital Improvement <br />Plan. The City Council identified some revisions to this document before it is <br />bound in final form. <br /> <br />Personnel <br /> <br />. Performance Evaluations <br />Performance evaluations were given to Kevin Ringwald (6 month probationary); <br />Tracy Petersen (5 year annual); and Sandy Berres (6 month probationary). <br /> <br />. City Positions <br />Staff has restructured the Parks and Recreation Director position, and expects to <br />advertise for this position after the holidays. In addition, the Receptionist <br />resigned and staff has been utilizing temporary employment services to cover the <br />workload. This position will also be advertised in January. <br /> <br />The City also advertised for the recent Parks Maintenance Worker position and <br />reviewed thirty-seven (37) applications. The position has been accepted and the a <br />new individual will start on January 14th. .. <br />
