Sandy Berres and Celine Syfko will both be attending Excel software training classes this <br />quarter sponsored by I.S.D. No. 621 Community Education. <br />. Terry Post will be attending the National GFOA Conference in Nashville, 1N May 22 <br />through May 26,1999. Terry is also serving as the Program Chairman of the MGFOA <br />this year. <br /> <br />Current Monthly Activities <br />. Staffhas been working with the City Attorney and the Homeowners Association for <br />assistance in gaining access to a property at 1176 Benton Way. Staff suspects a failed <br />water meter/reader at the property with the occupants being uncooperative. <br />. Staff is writing narrative for the 1999 Budget document. Distribution goal is April 30, <br />1999. <br />. Staff is providing assistance to Mr. Ringwald and Mr. Stafford as the City attempts to <br />maximize its return on the sale of assets acquired in the Indykiewicz closing. <br /> <br />Longer Ran~e Activities <br />. Staff has identified several ordinance revisions in the utilities chapters that will be <br />presented to Council in second quarter. <br />. Without a "1999 assessment season," staffwill be focusing on evaluating what portion of <br />a residential water meter replacement program to recommend proceeding with. <br />. Staff will be assisting the Finance Committee as they analyze maintenance garage <br />financing options and evaluate sanitary sewer residential flat rates and senior/disabled <br />rate discounts. <br />. The City's external auditors, Abdo, Abdo, Eick & Meyers, will begin the fieldwork <br />portion of their year end examination in early April. The final audit report will be issued <br />in May. <br />
