Only eight residents attended the meeting to provide input on the
plan. It is obvious that the major issue to be determined by the Parks Commission
and the City Council is drainage. The Commission will be reviewing the project at its
April 27th meeting and will most likely forward a recommendation to the City Council
shortly thereafter.

.

Plav Structure Replacement
I advertised for and have received three proposals for new play structures at Arden
Manor and at Arden Oaks parks. The Parks Commission will now review these at its
April 27th meeting. I expect that they will then schedule additional neighborhood
meetings for early summer.

. Countv Road FlHamline Avenue Trail Grant
I completed several items required by the State of Minnesota in order for the City to
utilize the grant funds for this project. The final Environmental Assessment
Statement has now been submitted to the State. Once the State has completed its
review of the EAS and the engineer has completed the plans and specifications, the
City Council and Parks Commission will be asked for direction on whether or not to
proceed with the project.

· Communitv Development

.

Countv Road I1Hil!:bwav 96/MNDOT Improvements
Staff met with MNDOT, Ramsey County, neighboring cities, and others to discuss the
intentions ofMNDOT in regards to improvements to the I-35W corridor. MNDOT
informed the participants that they are not going to approve any significant improvements
proposed to be made to the road system adjacent to the interstate. They indicated that
they need to complete a two-year study before any improvements can be made. This
would cause all improvernents to Highway 96 and County Road I to be shelved for the
immediate future.

Staff worked with Shoreview to develop a letter of response to MNDOT addressing some
of the concerns of the communities. The letter primarily was written from Shoreview
addressing their concerns about the impact to the proposed Wispark development.
