<br />~~[~~i <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />Arden Hills Planninl1 Commission - March 3. 1999 <br /> <br />Commission on Planning Cases #98-30 and #98-37. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the transfer ceremony for the Arsenal is still scheduled for <br />March 15,1999 and the lease for the City Hall is in process. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the County intends to give Lake Johanna Boulevard back to <br />the City. This is being done through a process in which roads have been given to the County by <br />the State and the Cormty in turn is giving some of them back to the City. The City of Arden <br />Hills does not want to acquire Lake Johanna Boulevard as it will need to be rebuilt and there is <br />insufficient right-of-way on the south side. The City is hoping to acquire New Brighton Road as <br />an alternative. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the Indykiewicz property purchase has not yet closed. The <br />property owners have requested an additional $500 for assessment costs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that Siloreview is hoping to develop the property north of Cormty <br />Road I to Cormty Road J with a variety of mixed uses. The access to this development would be <br />offI35W and there is a plan to rebuild the intersection. When the traffic study was done for this <br />area, the future traffic from the Arsenal was not considered and the City of Arden Hills believes <br />that the access to the Arsenal will be problematic. The City has asked that the Arsenal be <br />included in the enyironmental impact statement. <br /> <br />COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Acting Chair Nel~on confirmed that, when the Planning Commission denies a proposal by an <br />applicant and approves an alternative option, as was done this evening, the applicant has the <br />ability to present the City Council with other options for approval. Cormcilmember Malone <br />stated that this was correct. <br /> <br />Councilmember Galatowitsch asked if the City Cormcil reads the minutes of the previous <br />Planning Commission meetings. Cormcilmember Malone stated that the Planning Commission <br />meeting minutes and Planning Cases are included in the City Cormcil meeting packets and they <br />are read. <br /> <br />; <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked for a status on the Comprehensive Plan update. Ms. Randall <br />explained that the .Comprehensive Plan is pending Metropolitan Cormcil decision. She stated <br />that following the ten-day review, the Metropolitan Cormcil had not indicated that anything was <br />missing and the 60-day review period is close to an end. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked if any comments had been received from the neighboring <br />communities regarding the Comprehensive Plan. Ms. Randall stated that the City had received <br />no negative comments from the surrormding communities. <br /> <br />Commissioner Duchenes asked for the status of the shared grant with New Brighton and .- <br />Roseville for Cormty Road D. Ms. Randall stated she was not aware of the progress of this grant ., <br />request. She stated that the I35W Coalition received the GIS grant. This grant will include <br />additional software. <br />
