e e e Memorandum of Understanding 1. Putpose: This document is to be considered a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Shoreview, Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "Shoreview") and the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "Arden Hills"), It is the intent of Shoreview and Arden Hills to work cooperatively to provide additional building inspection and code enforcement services. The purpose of this document is to set forth the terms and conditions for the provision of building inspection and code enforcement services to be provided to Arden Hills by Shoreview, This Memorandum of Understanding will be in effect from this _ day of , 1999 until terminated by either party under the provisions set forth, 2. Services Provided: It is agreed upon by both parties that the intent is to share the services of a new building inspection position (hereinafter referred to as the "Building Inspector"), Arden Hills and Shoreview officials will participate jointly in the interviewing of applicants and hiring of the Building Inspector, Furthermore, it is understood that Shoreview will hire a full-time Building Inspector for the purpose of providing building inspection and code enforcement services to both parties in accordance with the following: a, The Building Inspector position shall be compensated at a mutually agreed pay rate classification, b, The Building Inspector will be considered a regular employee of Shoreview, and Shoreview will provide salary, benefits, and training to the Building Inspector. c. Shoreview will provide to Arden Hills an average of 20 hours per week from the Building Inspector position for building inspection and code enforcement purposes. d. The Building Inspector will be under the direct supervision of the Shoreview Building Official for the purpose of performance review and any discipline related issues. It is understood that while the Building Inspector is providing services for Arden Hills, the Building Inspector will be under the work direction of Arden Hills management. Arden Hills shall notify Shoreview of any and all complaints about the services rendered by the Building Inspector and cooperate in the investigation and resolution of the same in any manner, e, It is understood that services provided by the Building Inspector to Arden Hills will typically be provided Monday - Friday in the morning hours, It is understood that services provided by the Building Inspector to Shoreview will typically be provided Monday - Friday in the afternoon hours, However, it is also understood by both parties that they will work together to coordinate work schedules so as to 1
