<br />provide back-up inspection services in the absence of the respective Building A <br />Officials for such reasons as vacations, illness, or continuing education classes, ., <br /> <br />f, It is understood that any costs relating to training, licensing equipment, and other <br />matters concerning the professional development of the Building Inspector shall <br />be mutually agreed upon by Arden Hills and Shoreview and costs shared equally, <br />Any use of vehicles, mileage reimbursement, or other training and equipment <br />shall be in accordance with each City's policies and at their cost. <br /> <br />3. Payment: <br /> <br />It is agreed that Shoreview will bill Arden Hills for building inspection and code <br />enforcement services rendered on a monthly basis based upon the actual hours provided <br />to Arden Hills in the previous month and the prorated share of the employee benefit costs <br />for the position. The prorated cost-sharing of employee benefits for the position will be <br />shared equally between the two parties, based upon the equal sharing of hours at the time <br />this Memorandum of Understanding is executed, If the sharing of employee hours is <br />adjusted between the two parties in the future, the employee benefit costs will be prorated <br />to reflect the actual hours, Any variance from the prorated share of employee costs billed <br />monthly to Arden Hills will be reconciled at the end of each year, <br /> <br />The bill will be based upon the hourly rate established for the position based upon the <br />following pay grade as included in the Shoreview Job Classification Plan, This hourly fee A <br />will automatically be increased on January I of each year based upon the cost of living ., <br />adjustment and pay step system of Shore view's Job Classification Plan, The proposed pay <br />grade at the time of executing this Memorandum of Understanding is as follows: <br /> <br />Step I (starting rate) is $16.25 per hour <br />Step 2 at 6 months is a 2% increase ($16,57 per hour) <br />Step 3 at 12 months is a 2% increase ($16.90 per hour) <br />Step 4 at 2 years is a 4% increase ($17,58 per hour) <br />Step 5 at 3 years is a 4% increase ($18.28 per hour) <br /> <br />After one year at step 5 the employee is eligible for merit pay. This can be in increments <br />ofl % to 5% with a maximum amount of $20.19 per hour, <br /> <br />4. T ennination of Services: <br /> <br />It is understood that if Arden Hills wishes to temrinate the services of the Building <br />Inspector, Arden Hills shall provide sixty (60) days written notice to Shoreview, Be it <br />further understood that if Shoreview wishes to terminate the provision of building <br />inspection services to Arden Hills, Shoreview shall provide sixty (60) clays written notice <br />to Arden Hills, <br /> <br />5.
