City generated warning: <br /> <br />1. Natural disasters <br /> <br />a) Sighted tornado touchdown <br />1) Disseminate warning to the general public by requesting activation of the metro <br />siren control system. <br />Minneapolis-St. Paul Weather Service Office (725-3400) bears this responsibility. <br />2) Notify Ramsey County Warning Point of the weather conditions and municipal <br />actions taken. <br /> <br />b) All other natural disasters <br />1) Contact the Emergency Services Director or other local government officials who <br />will instruct the Warning Point of action to be taken. Ifnecessary to activate <br />warning system to advise general public, refer to paragraph (a. 1)) above. See <br />Chart A for list of government officials and order of succession for purposes of <br />instructions. <br /> <br />2) Notify Ramsey County Warning Point of the weather conditions and municipal e <br />actions taken. If no action has been taken to activate sirens, request they relay the <br />information to the responsible weather service office. <br /> <br />2. Other disasters of emergency condition <br /> <br />a) If needed, disseminate warning to the general public by requesting activation of the <br />sirens. Activation for emergency conditions other than those previously listed is <br />accomplished by reporting the conditions to the State Warning Point (State Highway <br />Communication Center, Highway Building, St. Paul, (651) 296-2025) and requesting <br />activation of Metro Area Siren Control System for the reasons given. If the metro <br />system is activated, the State Warning Point is responsible to ensure the appropriate <br />radio/television coverage is provided. The alert or attention signal will be sounded in <br />the marmer described under testing procedures. <br /> <br />b) Notify the Ramsey County Warning Point of the condition and action already taken. <br />Request relay to the responsible weather service office only if appropriate. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />32 <br />
