Year-end Audit Examination Finance staff assisted the external auditors with field work for the examination of the 1998 annual audit. The only remaining significant open item was later resolved when Ramsey County confirmed a $55,861 credit due the City in conjunction with 1998 Police Protection Services. The auditors will be presenting the audit results at one of the May Council meetings. 2. First Ouarter 1999 Utility Billing Utility bills for the quarter ended March 31, 1999 were mailed to utility customers on April 14, 1999. Current charges for this billing were $511,387.60. Rate changes for water, sanitary sewer and surface water management were incorporated into the billing calculations. 3. 1999 Budget Document Work proceeds with narrative composition and formatting. Target for delivery to the printer (Accurate Press) is April 28, 1999. 4. Vincent Anderson Case The City Attorney is attempting to document and reconcile Social Security Administration (SSA) definitions of disability to ordinance reference to "total disability." With the issue unresolved, Mr. Anderson's first quarter utility billing did not reflect any status or rate changes. s. Next Month Projects a) Distribute 1999 Budget document and 1998 audit report as appropriate. b) Complete TIF reporting documents to Office of the State Auditor. c) Assist the EDA Executive Director in financial analysis of options related to the Morris (Naegele) property. d) Assist the Public Works Director in planning for water meter replacement for the Pemtom Townhouses this summer. e) Assist the City Administrator in launching the 2000 budget planning process. f) Attend the National GFOA Conference in Nashville, TN, the week of May 24th.
