This type of wetland is not protected by the Minnesota DNR. <br />Soils on the subject property (see Figure 2) are mapped 860C, Urban land - Haydon-Kingsley <br />Complex, described as a well drained fine sandy loam soil derived from glacial till. Certain <br />undrained areas, such as that on the subect property, can develop wetland conditions. Field <br />evaluation of wetland hydrology, soils, and vegetation served to define the wetland boundaries <br />which appears fairly evident despite the time of year (Wmter) that the delineation was performed. <br /> <br />Since the wetland is a type 1, the wetland conservation act provides an exemption from the <br />mitigation requirement in the event the proposed project would unavoidably impact (i.e. fill 01' <br />drain) the wetland area.
