<br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Chapter 10 Utilities <br /> <br />1000.22 Fire Hydrants. <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Use of Fire Hydrants. No person shall operate fire hydrants or interfere in any <br /> <br />way with the water system without fIfst obtaining a permit to do so from the commissioner, <br /> <br />with the exception of authorized City employees on City business or fIfe-fighting personnel. <br /> <br />Permits may be issued by the commissioner in accordance with the following procedure <br /> <br />A. A permit to use a fire hydrant shall be issued for each individual job or contract, <br /> <br /> <br />for a minimum of thirty (30) days and for any additional thirty (30) day periods as <br /> <br /> <br />the commissioner shall determine. The permit shall state the location of the hydrant <br /> <br /> <br />and shall be for the use of that hydrant alone, except as otherwise specified in the <br /> <br />permit. <br /> <br />B. The applicant for a permit shall make an advance cash deposit in the amount as <br /> <br />has been established by Council resolution. The purpose of the cash deposit is to <br /> <br />guarantee payment for water used and to cover any breakage or damage to the <br /> <br /> <br />hydrant. Such deposit shall be refunded upon expiration of the permit, after <br /> <br /> <br />deduction for any applicable charges for use or damage. <br /> <br />C. The user shall pay a rental charge based both upon the time of use and the <br /> <br />gallons of water used.
