<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - AUGUST 4, 1999 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />pump eonnection inspeetion to ensure that private sump pumps are not conneeted to the City <br />sanitary sewer system, <br /> <br />Couneilmember Malone stated that the new section of West Round Lake Road has been cut and <br />paved, He noted that there will be no progress with the Highway 96 improvement projeet until <br />the situation with the Highways 96/10 intersection is resolved. He noted that the cost of the new <br />signal lights has been fronted by the City of Arden Hills and this money will not be returned to <br />the City until this intersection is figured out. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the City had eontracted with Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson <br />and Assoeiates, Ine, for the spaee planning study for the proposed Public Works facility at a eost <br />of approximately $8,500, <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the City Council was nearly finished reeodifying the City <br />Codes, <br /> <br />Couneilmember Malone stated that the City received the first halftax revenue and indieated that <br />the City reeeived almost 100 pereent of what was estimated, <br /> <br />Couneilmember Malone stated that the City was currently working on the year 2000 budget. He <br />indicated that the levy would be up approximately $52,000 over last year, <br /> <br />Couneilmember Malone stated that the City Council officially rejeeted the bids for the new City <br />Hall eonslruction project because the City has not yet acquired the land. Commissioner Rye <br />asked if the low bidder had been approaehed regarding the possibility of keeping the bid open, <br />Councilmember Malone stated that the bids had been extended; however, the deeision was made <br />to re-bid the project, He indicated that the contractor understood the City's predicament. The <br />City had tried to gain lease access to the land prior to the transfer being finalized, however; the <br />Army National Guard would not allow this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that he would not be available for the September 1, 1999, <br />Planning Commission meeting, <br /> <br />COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand stated that the new asphalt trail system in Tony Sehmidt park was a <br />tremendous system, He noted that, sinee the lake no longer has the beach area, maintenanee was <br />not being accomplished and there was litter allover. He had suggested to Greg Maek that high <br />school students help out in picking up the trash, <br /> <br />Mr, Ringwald stated that the City would be part ofthe review group interviewing the architeets <br />for the new buildings at the Tony Schmidt park on Thursday of this week. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Nelson congratulated Mr. Ringwald and Mr, Fritsinger for their new jobs and <br />expressed his appreciation for the work they both have aceomplished, <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Commissioner Rye moved, seconded by Commissioner Sand to adjourn the meeting at 10:23 <br />p,m. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br />
