" CITY OF ARDEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: November 23,1999 TO: Joe Lynch, City Administrator Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director 'l0. 2000 Street Improvement Project FROM: SUBJECT: Back!!:round The Arden Hills City Council ordered a Preliminary Feasibility Report in the matter of the 2000 Street Improvement Project, at its October 12, 1999 City Council meeting. Attached is Resolution #99-40, receiving the report and stating that informational meetings and public hearings will be held at a later date for the 2000 Strcet Improvement Project. Council had reviewed portions of the report at previous meetings, and asked that revisions be made in several areas, which the City Engineer has done. The attached report addresses the reconstruction projects identified for the year 2000 Street Improvement Project. Costs The estimated costs for all of the proposed improvements are summarized in the report and could amount to $2,250,000. Final costs will be determined based upon the scope of work and alternates that are selected by the Council, following input from the public at informational meetings and public hearings. Fundin!!: Funding for the proposed street improvement project would come from State Aid, Rice Creek Watershed District, Surface Water management, Assessments, and the City's 409 Fund (Non- Assessable Street Improvement Fund). Recommendation Staff recommends that the City Council consider the following actions: I. Adopt Res. #99-40 entitled, "Resolution Receiving Feasibility Report in the Matter ofthe 2000 Street Improvement Project;" 2. Authorize staffto hold an informational meeting on the proposed improvements on November 30,1999 at 7,00 p.m. at City Hall; and 3. Hold a Public Hearing on the proposed improvement in conjunction with the January 10, 2000 City Council meeting.
