I
I.
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I.
I
I
I
I
I
I
I.
I
I

located at the western end of the neighborhood and would treat specific portions
of the neighborhood as described below:

Proposed Pond A is located between Hamline Avenue and Highway 51 and
south of Ingerson Road. This pond would treat storm water from Hamline
A venue and Ingerson Road west of Pernwood Street which generally drains
overland to Lake Josephine, the MnDOT ditches or ponds on Ingerson Road until
it evaporates or seeps into the ground. The pond would be approximately 0.60
acres in size and be a maximum of 10 feet deep with a permanent pool visible
except for extremely dry periods. The proposed site includes land owned by
MnDOT and the City of Arden Hills. A significant stand of trees exists
throughout the site especially adjacent to HamJine A venue and many of those
trees may need to be removed in order to allow for the grading of the pond. The
pond shape will be manipulated to minimize any impacts to existing trees in the
area.

Proposed Pond B is located in the vicinity of Hamline A venue north of Ingerson
and therefor can only be constructed if Hamline A venue is vacated as is proposed
above. This pond would treat storm water from Tiller Lane, Cannon Avenue and
Dunlap Street which currently drain into the wetland located between Ingerson
Road and Tiller Lane. The pond would be approximately 0.5 acres in size and be
a maximum of 10 feet deep with a permanent pool visible except for extremely
dry periods. The construction of the pond would require coordination with
MnDOT and the Rice Creek Watershed. The proposed site includes land owned
by MnDOT and the City of Arden Hills. A few trees exist throughout the site and
some of those trees would need to be removed in order to allow for the grading of
the pond however the loss of screening would be less severe than the screening
lost to construct Pond A. If Pond B is not constructed, the runoff is proposed to
continue to drain directly to the wetland however a grit chamber should be
considered to provide some level of water quality treatment.

The Fernwood Court channel is located between Ingerson Court and Pemwood
Court. The existing channel area does not contain enough land to construct a
pond however, the project includes the construction of a weir and some minor
ditch excavation and clearing to provide as much water quality enhancement as
possible given the existing topographical and property constraints. Drainage
routed through the Pernwood Court Channel would continue to drain ultimately to
Lake Josephine.

5
