We are requesting a Special Use Permit and Master Plan <br />Amendment for the benefit of the proposed project. <br /> <br />As you are aware, this project was initially developed as a joint effort between the City of Arden Hills and <br />Bethel College. Earlier this year, however, the City removed itself from the cooperative endeavor. Bethel <br />College is now continuing the athletic facility project on its own bebaJf. For your reference, the present <br />design is very similar to that wbich was developed when the project involved the City. <br /> <br />Proiect <br /> <br />Tbe proposed West Athletic Complex includes the construction of: <br />New entIance drive off Old Snelling Road <br />Parldng lot (41 + 2 HC staJls), <br />. Tennis Courts (6), <br />. Entrance gate and sign, <br />Parlcing lot, drive and sign lighting, <br />Sports seIvice building (storage and limited concessions), <br />. Softba11 field, <br />Dugouts, <br />Soccer fields (1 large or 2 smaJI), <br />Scoreboards (2), <br />Fencing (backstop, tennis court, sideline and outfield), <br />Landscaping. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />Based on previous meetings with the City staff and McCracken/Chatham residents, we have located the <br />proposed tennis courts as far east of the McCracken/City property line as possible to a110w for horizontal <br />and vertical separation, and a110w for the protection of the existing mature trees. AdditionaJly, existing <br />wetlands on the site will be protected dwing the course of construction with the exception of one <br />
